Blogs
A blog is similar to a journal except it is published on the World Wide Web. Your entries are called “posts,” and people can subscribe to them and make comments about them. Your blog gives you a forum for sharing your knowledge and opinions with a large audience.
Because you want to build an audience and keep them coming to your blog, plan to add new posts at least weekly, so you create an entire community of followers. This is important since your followers are all potential buyers of your information product.
You set up your blog on a blogging platform. There are several online resources for this, including WordPress.com, Blogger and Tumblr.
Make sure you add “share” buttons to social media sites, so readers can share your posts on their social media sites.
Offer your information products on your blog with a link to your sales page and shopping cart to make it easy for people to buy your product. You can also monetize your blog by adding affiliates to it.
When you become an affiliate, you promote someone else’s products and services on your blog. They will give you a coded link to put on your blog along with an ad for what they are selling. When one of your followers uses that link to make a purchase, you will receive a commission.
