Maintaining Energy During The Day: Beat the Exhaustion and Be More Productive
In this ebook, I’ll show you how to maintain a high level of productivity throughout the day, using some simple self-care and wellness techniques. This discussion is based on my 2008 book The Exhaustion Cure, which looks at how much energy and vitality you have, and how to develop it and use it to accomplish all the things you want to do.
After I published my first two books, Leave the Office Earlier and Find More Time, so many people said to me, “I would love to do all these things, but I’m just so tired.“ I now wish that I’d written The Exhaustion Cure first – because it’s hard to meet your goals when you just want to put your head down on the desk and take a nap. You have the potential to dramatically impact your productivity by paying closer attention to your energy behaviors.
So I’d like you to please just grab a piece of paper; it doesn’t have to be fancy. Any scrap will do, even a Post-It note or the back of a memo. I’m going to give you a little quiz, and I want you to simply write down a Y for yes, or an N for no, based on your first reaction to the questions I’m going to pose. Now, this is based on what’s typical of you most of the time, not always. Please, just be honest here; no one can see your answers. These are just for you. Ready?
1. I’m resentful of people who take time off. What’s your general reaction to this question?
2. I’m often absent-minded. How would you rate yourself on that statement?
