SkillBites is based on two premises. First, people need to sharpen their skills or learn new skills all the time, but it is hard to find the time to do so. Sometimes, all that is needed is to learn some essential tools and techniques in a certain area. SkillBites aims to become the source for finding short, practical resources on just about anything, at a reasonable price. The resources are designed so that they can be absorbed in just minutes, and put to use immediately. The information will be easily accessible, via eBooks, audio books, print books, videos and foreign language translations. For now, however, we are starting with the eBooks, and will branch out into the other areas as we grow. We’ll be constantly uploading new eBooks onto the site, so keep checking back with us.

The second premise is that just about everybody has some area of expertise, and could share their knowledge with others who need or want some better skills in that area. SkillBites provides the platform for people to share their knowledge. We have a generous revenue sharing plan for our authors, so everybody comes out well: our authors make money, SkillBites is able to provide lots of great content, and our customers get to learn whatever they need to, quickly and inexpensively.

One of the factors that distinguishes SkillBites from most of the other eBook platforms on the web is our interest in ensuring the quality of each eBook on our site. Every eBook goes through an editorial review process, so our readers get good quality material every time they purchase something. If you are dissatisfied with a book, either because you found it wasn’t written well or the content was poor, please let us know. Quality is very important to us, and we would appreciate knowing if we missed something along the way.
